Venezia Participates in Susquehanna Valley The Make-A-Wish Foundation Convoy is the main fundraiser for the Susquehanna Valley branch in Pennsylvania. This convoy is held every year on Mothers Day in the parking lot of Berle Industries in Lancaster, PA. In the morning, there were games for the kids, entertainment, food an a benefit auction. All items are donated with a 100% of the proceeds going to Make-A-Wish. The convoy pulls out in the early afternoon and follows a route from Lancaster to Ephrata and back. There were about 475 trucks participating in the 2003 convoy. The drivers collect donations and pledges to participate in this great event. The top 30 drivers get to park their trucks on the "front row" at Berle Industries the following year, so that they are prominently displayed during the days events. The single driver that collects the most money gets the honor of leading the convoy the following year. In the pictures below you will see the "Make-A-Wish Clowns" that help provide a fun and exciting day for everyone. The clowns also ride along with the convoy to collect donations. Venezia thanks Ron Stevens in unit #722 for coordinating the event with Venezia. Ron detailed the equipment, took up donations and drove the truck in the convoy. Great job Ron, you make Venezia proud! Click the pictures below to see the enlarged versions.
