VENEZIA LOGISTICS MANAGER EARNS INDUSTRY CERTIFICATION LIMERICK, PA. April 21, 2000 – Jill Burbank of Venezia Logistics Services has earned the sought-after Certified Transportation Broker (CTB) designation from the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA). Burbank, manager of the Limerick, PA-based logistics division of Venezia Transport Service, Inc., earned the nationally recognized certification in March after successfully completing a rigorous six-month course of study and examinations administered by the TIA. Candidates for the CTB designation are required to have thorough knowledge of the legal and regulatory requirements of the transportation brokerage industry – known commonly as freight forwarding – as well as the latest trends in transportation and business management. "In addition to being a significant personal achievement, Jill’s earning of the CTB certification brings added value to our customers," said Louis Capolino, vice president of operations. "She joins an elite group of transportation logistics experts whose understanding of the industry and its many regulations guarantees that those who ship through Venezia are getting the highest level of service and cost effectiveness in third-party shipping." TIA, the leading trade association of third-party transportation providers, developed the CTB program in 1986 to increase professionalism and establish a code of ethics within the freight-forwarding industry.
